Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the departmental servers, computer laboratory workstations, and faculty/staff workstations. Perform all of the Novell Netware and Zenworks administration. Assist and work with the campus Network Operations Center and Lan support in resolving network connectivity and other network security-related issues for the department’s LAN. Perform vulnerability assessments. Configure and maintain the department’s Cisco 2924 network switch. Set up and maintain E-mail access to the campus Unix-based E-mail server for all of our departmental personnel. Install and provide support for workstation images. Assist all levels of users with software and hardware-related issues. Assist faculty members, undergraduate, graduate, and PhD students with identifying the appropriate software and hardware for their various types of projects. |

Katie Helene

Bldg. Katie Helene is an Administrative Assistant in the Biological Resources Engineering (ENBE) program. She works with the graduate program, handling prospective graduate material and related questions and current graduate student files. Katie provides administrative assistance to the Biological Resources Engineering program and assists Dr. Arthur T. Johnson, Dr. Yang Tao and Dr. Jennifer Becker with administrative responsibilities.

Melvin Hill Mr. Hill assists graduate and undergraduate students with research and electronic projects. He works with students to help them solve electronic problems and teaches students while helping them. He works from design specifications to build circuits. He maintains electronic shop inventories and orders supplies and equipment when needed. |

Patricia Lupo
1434 Animal Science/Agricultural Engineering
Bldg. Patricia Lupo has been an Administrative Assistant in the Biological Resources Engineering Department since August 1989. Some of her responsibilities include processing all new employees, writing employment contracts, special events (Better Composting School, Bioretention for Stormwater Management, retirement parties, holiday gatherings, etc.), and assisting faculty with their Powerpoint presentations. In addition, she brings her outstanding shopping skills to the department by purchasing, via a procurement card, supplies for the professors’ labs and classrooms.

Kimberly Monahan
1457 Animal Science/Agricultural Engineering
Bldg. Kimberly Monahan serves as Program Assistant to the Natural Resources Management (NRMT) program which includes the majors: Land and Water Resources Management, Plant and Wildlife Resources Management, and Environmental Education and Park Management. She provides student advisement and support while contributing to the coordination of the program. Kimberly also provides administrative assistance to the Biological Resources Engineering (ENBE) program. She brings a unique blend of experience in both the natural resources conservation field and office administration. Kimberly rejoins campus after work at Pinchot Institute for Conservation, and Patuxent Wildlife Research Center. She received her B.S. in NRMT in 1996. |

Teri Schuler
1441 Animal Science/Agricultural Engineering
Bldg. Teri Schuler assists Dr. Fred Wheaton, Chairman, and the faculty for the Biological Resources Engineering Department. Teri has been in the department since 1998 and with the University since 1993. Some of her responsibilities are Tuition Remission, access to the building and labs, I.D. cards for faculty and staff, work study (financial aid), parking coordinator and the departmental newsletter.

Tina Scites

Bldg. Tina Scites is an Administrative Assistant in the Biological Resources Engineering (ENBE) program. She works with the undergraduate program, handling prospective undergraduate material and current undergraduate student files. Tina assists Drs. Adel Shirmohammadi, Gary Felton and Hubert Montas with administrative responsibilities.

Janet WoodruffWord Processing Operator Scientific

Bldg. Janet started on campus in 1981 as a Clerk Typist IV and has been in the Biological Resources Engineering Department since 1982. Some of her duties include Webmaster of the department since 1996, scientific typing, assisting in coordination of the 4-H Engineering Events section of the State Fair and acting as secretary to various faculty. Duties as the webmaster include obtaining and
laying out departmental material on the web and responsibility for HTML, as
well as design of the web pages, using innovative techniques. Various
software packages and equipment are used in her work. |
